A grand adventure...

Day 1

Well, friends, we made it. I think I must block out how much
I dislike the "travel" part of adventures, because it always sounds like a good idea... until I'm sitting in an airport lobby for 2 hours... or on a delayed flight for 45 minutes.

We arrived at the airport between 3:45AM and 4:30AM respectively, and were luckily through security in a pretty timely manner. And, once we were up in the air, the flight went smoothly....

Leaving Minnesota

Arriving in Belize (feels like 93F)

The good news is we were in NO danger of missing our flight this year!

(Exhibit A)

In the minds of the flight attendants, TSA Officers, and general airport staff, however, we WERE in danger of infecting the greater Belizean population with the Corona Virus.

Everyone is very much on high alert (as only seems right), and the extra precautionary measures taken, while understandable, led to a very long customs process... once we made it through all the lines, rental cars and carpools were arranged, and it was off to the hotel to drop our bags.

Tonight was pretty laid back, getting settled, showered, and being the grateful recipients of Freddie and crew's barbecue chicken, and rice - we are all ready to (finally) get a full night's sleep, and prepare for the week ahead.

Carol, Jason, Evan, and Jeremy came down early to get jobs lined up, and processes begun, so that everything, God willing, can be smooth sailing for the group.

It is SO good to be back - to feel that instant, reminiscent excitement of drive and, simultaneously, of peace.

Alrighty - Mass in the morning... time to get some shut eye.

Please keep us in your prayers, and know that all of you at home are in ours as well!

Extra photos, just because. :)
